I truly can’t believe that it was time to take Tommy’s senior photos. To understand my relationship with Tommy, I have to tell a little backstory. Tommy’s mom, Rae, was one of my teachers in high school. She teaches Sign Language and back when I was in high school, it wasn’t a popular subject so the district could not justify having teachers at every school for it, so they would broadcast to the other schools. My mom was hired on at the school to run the equipment so her and Rae became really close. I ended up marrying Rae’s brother and we will just say Tommy was disappointed that his uncle had beat him to it! Tommy and I both share a love for Star Wars so we connected pretty well when we first knew each other. I really love how this urban setting turned out. I’m usually up a canyon or in a field so it was really refreshing to be in a different setting.




During the session, we looked down the street to see this amazing vintage car. The owners of the car were just about to leave when we asked them if we could do a few shots with it and they were the kindest people to let us. I am so grateful to whoever those kind souls were because those ended up being some of my favorite photos from the session!
