Mom of boys, artist, and lover of all things Disney
I always knew I wanted to be an artist but I never knew it would be through photography that I would find my heart. My husband bought me my first dslr camera when we were dating and I fell in love (with him and the camera)! It wasn't until the blessing in disguise of losing my 9-5 job I had right out of college that got me really wondering what to do with my life. God knew what was in store! It was at that point that I was inspired to learn photography because for some reason I knew it was part of my purpose.
My path of being a photographer actually has nothing to do with photography! Nope! Not a darn thing about me taking pictures! God placed in me a sincere love for people and a desire to serve them. As an introvert, this business has pushed me to branch out of my comfort zone, do things I never would have dreamed of doing before and serve people I would never get to otherwise. Every time I do a photo session I feel so grateful to do what I love. I get to meet the most amazing people that leave a permanent impression on my heart and bonus: we get amazing photos to enjoy for a long time!
I am married to an incredible guy who's wit and humor remind me to not take life too seriously and enjoy the little things. I am a mom to the world’s most amazing little boys; they are my inspiration, my greatest creations and have taught me more about life and love (and patience) than anyone else on this planet.
I love all things Star Wars, Harry Potter and Disney and I am fluent in movie quotes. I got my love of music from my dad and you will rarely catch me not listening to some kind of tunes (Jack Johnson and The Beatles are a few faves). I crave Mexican food just about every day (more chips and salsa, please?). I really love to travel, my dream trip would be to do a European Tour to do all the fun tourist-y stuff plus study and practice art!! Of course, I would also never turn down a relaxing vacay to the beach or a magical trip to the happiest place on earth with my favorite Disney buddy, my little sis!
For as long as I can remember, I was always coloring or drawing something. I always felt the need to create, it's just part of me. Drawing and painting were my first ways of expressing my inner artist. All throughout my school years, I focused a lot of attention on developing my art, I was even an art major in college. I would say it wasn't until many years and major life experiences later though that I really found my artistic voice and what I was passionate about creating. I found my soul really resonated with creating religious themed art that had real meaning for me. I love creating paintings that represent real emotions that I often feel and that's why these mean so much to me! These pieces were only ever originally meant for me to create to enjoy and just share as I felt needed but I'm excited to add that I will soon (Nov/Dec 2020) have an etsy shop available to purchase prints and where I will be introducing new pieces!
To all who come to this happy place, welcome! Now that you know about my freakish love of Disney, I thought I would devote an entire section just to a personal project of mine: Disneybounding. Although you may think the term has something to do with going to Disney, it's actually the exact opposite, it's bringing the Disney to you! It's all about taking normal clothing items and wearing them to represent a Disney character or item. For more info on Disneybounding, you can check out my good friend, Lauren's, website here; she is the queen of Disneybounding! Here are a few favorite Disneybound galleries to bring a little extra pixie dust into your day!
